My Process
Prior to Balsamiq, Figma & Sketch
My Prototypes & Wireframes were designed by hand sketching & PowerPoint to show User Flow. Later, when the App was in Beta, I did my tests on Mapping to ensure we had the correct User Flow before actual User Tests. Once critiqued, if I found any issues, I would then discuss them with MD * the founder*, and we then had the Development & Software Teams involved to fix those issues.
User Research
Thru user interviews, I learned that the app could and SHOULD be used for more than we originally anticipated. Other uses were; to de-escalate & anti-bullying for college students, use on blind dates, real estate agents afraid to show homes alone. Marriage & custody issues, domestic violence, road rage, car accidents, document or witness incidents, police using excessive force & so much more.
Next
After conducting Usability Tests, I validated vital parts of the Design and Collaborated with the rest of the team on those findings. We added features and refined the Design and Interactive elements. This was our process until we came up with the final design and launched in May 2014.
