While networking on LinkedIn I found DemocracyLab & OrcaSound. I currently volunteer here. DemocracyLab allows you to recruit others for your projects, if accepted.
I wanted to volunteer to a cause I believe in. DemocracyLab is also supported by The Gates Foundation.
Collaborate using Miro, data from use cases. An area I took on was the Home Page & Feedback Form.
Team; Scott Veirs - Founder
Brendan Thatcher - Lead Researcher
Myself - UX /UI - Product Designer /
Working with our researcher; Gathering and analyzing the user data,
we have determined the 'Citizen Scientist' Persona.
Shown is the current / old design. Header will get the new branding / logo that I have designed in next version. We are also updating the map with interaction & Feedback Form.
Currently I am working on; Managing direction on designing a Learning Page, and developing the UI & style guide for this project.
Improving UI of the home page. I designed the new logo and banners that can be used on next update.
Addressing user feedback of too much white space.
Here I've incorporated the new logo & banner I designed & added an image carousel.
The team decided to go with another layout.
Using Marvel, shown the new logo & banner I designed with larger image carousel from user feedback.
Includes better userflow.
My first Hack-a-Thon. Here we started collaborating on the Learning aspect of OrcaSound.
Brendan is our lead for this project. This is what we will be working on today. He used the logo I created in his presentation deck.
Listening to comments from users I decided to do a side project. I took the initiative to design this infograph. The facts are from other orca sites and helps tell a story of WHY orcas are important.
It may eventually be incorporated to the Learning Page I am facilitating. This includes the logo that I also designed, on the header.
Continue learning is what I enjoy doing.
Updates shown as we modified the Style Guide and received feedback. From designing a Template thru the last 2 frames, depicting an updated image that I designed using multiple tools; Canva, Figma & other applications.
The challenge was to create a mobile app for a grocery store. I designed this after posting a question on Facebook. Asking what are your current challenges while going grocery shopping.
